Welcome to PAUSE People, where we're on a mission to help parents of tweens hit the PAUSE button on reactivity and unhelpful family patterns. You’ll learn to transform everyday moments into opportunities that boost your family’s self-regulation skills and quality of life. 

 

Join our vibrant community and expert coaches Dan Leibowitz & Yulia Rafailova for this light-hearted yet profound journey where you will learn to navigate the ebb and flow of family life with greater grace, confidence, and connection.  

Here's what to expect: 

  • 4 live, 90-minute group coaching sessions via Zoom

  • First 30 minutes: presentation of course material

  • Last 60 minutes: interactive, live coaching 

Through live, direct coaching and a supportive, interactive community experience via Zoom, you'll learn how to:

 

  • Harness self-awareness for better emotional control

  • Apply authoritative parenting practices 

  • Cultivate a more harmonious and organized home

  • Address predictable challenges associated with ADHD 

  • Navigate the tween-age years with more ease 

  • Connect with a supportive tribe of like-minded parents.

 

Whether you're facing ADHD, executive function challenges or simply seeking smoother transitions into the adolescent years, this course is tailor-made for parents and guardians navigating elementary and middle school years.

  • Dates: Thursdays, October 10, 17, 24, and November 7 (skip Halloween)

  • Time: 12:15 PM - 1:45 PM pacific time 

  • Investment: $225 - per person, couples welcome and count as 1 person. ​

Course Overview:

Session 1: Foundations of Executive Function Skills

  • Introduction to EF building blocks  

  • Disrupt recurring problems and patterns

  • Shift from reactive to proactive parenting

Session 2: Strengthen Relationships 

  • Authoritative parenting: balancing love, limits, and boundaries

  • Communicate clear expectations and routines for daily activities

  • Rupture and repair: handling challenges effectively

Session 3: Create an EF Smart Home 

  • Routines: less improv and more planning

  • Scaffolds that promote independence and self-regulation

  • Anticipate and mitigate predictable conflict vs. reacting 

Session 4: Action and Accountability

  • Assign roles and set actionable steps

  • Evaluate progress and identify strengths and growth areas

  • Celebrate achievements and plan for ongoing accountability

Your Coaches: 

Dan Leibowitz

With 30 years of experience in schools, educational consulting, and as a father of two teens, Dan brings extensive expertise to PAUSE People's parent coaching process. Holding advanced degrees in General and Special Education, and a Certificate in Educational Therapy, Dan's personalized methods assist parents in creating more supportive home environments, while enabling routines that foster self-reliance, cooperation, and co-regulation.  Dan offers a uniquely integrative approach that improves family functioning and quality of life via new, more helpful patterns and ripple effects in the home.

​Yulia Rafailova

Yulia is a coach and speaker who loves helping people discover their own awareness and design personalized solutions to common executive function challenges. She founded Mindfull Education in 2017,  after a decade of academic consulting with over a thousand students and their families. Her coaching focuses on guiding adolescents and their parents through collaborative problem-solving and mindfulness.


Yulia also serves on the Board of Directors for the award-winning Greater Los Angeles CHADD, where she hosts workshops and  facilitates weekly peer support groups. Growing up with undiagnosed ADHD and anxiety, Yulia relates deeply to the community she serves.
