I am an Educational Consultant with a private practice in Marin County, California. Exactly 30 years ago, I taught my first classroom at Weston Middle School in Weston, CT, after earning a Master’s degree in General Education. (My Master’s in Special Education followed later, in S.F.) Since then, I have worked extensively with schools and parents. I am also the father of two independent, kind teenage sons.

Flipping the script on a predictable pattern

In addition to maintaining a small private practice, my mission has evolved to challenge prevailing trends: the rise in ADHD diagnoses and the widespread struggle with self-regulation skills among children. I address the tendency to rely primarily on medication, and the all-too-common pattern of seeking coaching later, only after overlooked challenges have accumulated and become urgent. For example, the pattern my colleagues and I see all the time is that bright, capable students hit a wall under increased academic and organizational demands -typically in middle or high school. It also reflects a common observation from teachers: many students, especially boys, are increasingly struggling with self-regulation.

Begin with the smallest step, often taken,
and the way flows with ease. -Taoist principle

I provide concrete, practical roadmaps for building adaptive routines -early and often- to help lay the foundation not just for self-regulation, but, even more importantly, for co-regulation skills. As a dad and a teacher who stumbles just like every other parent, I say this wholeheartedly: it all truly begins with us, the parents. Owning that truth is where real progress starts. This approach is widely recommended for families managing ADHD in young children.

My practical and uplifting approach lays a strong foundation for learning, organization, and increased cooperation in daily life, now and into young adulthood. I am especially committed to raising awareness and providing equitable support for neurodiverse learners, including girls who are often overlooked.

*There are estimated to be several thousand to over 10,000 online executive function tutors operating in the U.S. alone as of 2025, and the number is growing rapidly.

Brand Inspiration:

In a northern Thai village in 1997, early in my teaching career, I observed a toddler skillfully build and tend a fire throughout the night.
This moment revealed children's remarkable capabilities when given proper skills and the agency to apply them. It demonstrated how kids thrive when provided with opportunities and support to just do it. This insight has guided my approach to empowering students of all ages ever since.
